Let me begin. Some say to research the party dress code ahead of time.I say follow your heart however, be adaptable. Unless, of course, you hear that this is a black-tie event, in which case you should ignore all advice that follows and wear a tuxedo.

Always plan two variations of your outfit ahead of time, one more formal than the other. While hardly ever think you could be too dressed up sometimes it happens. If you roll into your party and feel a bit overdressed, politely excuse yourself to the mens room, take off that tie and unbutton your dress shirt.

Office Christmas Party

Though it seems like you have to follow a lot of rules when it comes time to dress for your office Christmas party, you can still have fun with your look. Remember to groom the morning of the party. You never know when you’re going to have to put in an unexpected hour or two of overtime, and you could suddenly find yourself in a crunch for time between the office and the party.
